The Progressive Mind
The Progressive Mind is a collection of articles and annotated links to sites, articles, publications and editorials expressing progressive and humanistic viewpoints. I have links to a few not-so-progressive sites as well. If I were a real scholar, I would balance things by looking at more views from the dark side.

"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. ... corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed." Abraham Lincoln, Nov. 21, 1864.
"Government—unchecked, unbalanced, and left to its own devices—always becomes a tyrannical leviathan." Kurt Nimmo, April 20, 2006
Site Links- 9/11 Citizens Watch: Good informational site for 9/11 issues.
- 9-11 Research: This is a key research site that systematically demolishes the official explanation given by the government of the U.S. for the 911 Attacks. Alliance - Home & Events. Also know as 911 Truth Organization
- 911 Truth.org -Only the Truth will Set Us Free.: This is the first site to go for information on the September 11, 2000 complicity investigations.

- American Prospect Online: Also a progressive print magazine.
- Another Day in the Empire: Kurt Nimmo's blog.
- Antiwar.com: Great antiwar site by Justin Raimondo. Politics makes strange bedfellows on this one, as in many respects, I have troubles with Raimondo's libertarian views, but he is a fine writer, with a good mind.
- B.C. Civil Liberties Association: Website of the British Columbia, Canada, Civil Liberties Association.
- Bob's Links and Rants: Bob Goodsell updates his web log routinely. Bob and I often see events from a similar perspective.

- Centre for Research on Globalization: Some interesting and provocative opinions on a number of issues. Certainly worth going to this site.

- Counterbias.com- We Inform, You Conclude: Another fine site.
- Crisis Papers: Have a look at this one.
- Consortium News: Investigative journalist Robert Parry's fine site.
- Dahr Jamail's Iraq Dispatches: Investigative journalist Dahr Jamail's Iraq Dispatches - an unermbedded journalist in IRAQ and a man of courage.
- Dissident Voice: Alterative media site - left gatekeepers.

- Free Speech Network: What democracy looks like.: Not too familar with this one, but will give it a try for a while. It looks good at first glance.
- From The Wilderness Publications Home Page: Some very good stuff. Unfortunately, their content is not free. At one time I had a paid subscription.
- Green Left: Australian alterative media site - quite good.
- Guerrilla News Network: It seems at first glance to be a fine site, with links to lots of first rate progressive articles. However, there are some indications that the principle actors on the site are "left-gatekeepers" and agents of disinformation. Keep your eyes open.
- Independent Media Center ((( i ))): There are a number of independent media centers world wide.
- Henry Kissenger: War Crimes Why single out this SOB? Well, read the site.
- Information Clearing House: Top notch media blogger.
- Intervention Magazine: War, Politics, Culture

- Online Journal: One of the best sites, well worth the visit.
- Op Ed News : Worth the visit.
- Rabble: Views from Canada.
- Scholars for 9/11 Truth: An influential group of prominent experts and scholars have joined together alleging that senior government officials have covered up crucial facts about what really happened on 9/11. The members of this new non-partisan association, "Scholars for 9/11 Truth" (S9/11T), are convinced their research proves the current administration has been dishonest with the nation about events in New York and Washington, D.C.
- Source Watch: Alternative media site - was Disinfopedia - quite good

- Vive Le Canada: Progressive Canadian Site
- Wayne Madsen Report: Wayne Madsen, investigative journalist - one of the few.
- WHAT REALLY HAPPENED.COM: Right wing libertarian Michael Rivero has an interesting mix. I have to admit I visit this site first - even though he is way to the right of me. He supports the 9/11 truth initiative and has some good original articles.
